As disciples of Jesus we want to encourage, effectuate, and exhibit a visible, vibrant, and unified faith community, rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition. We are committed to serving and ministering the varying needs of all Empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit, rooted in God’s Word, and in service to all, we seek to strengthen our relationship with God through Word, Worship, Witness, and Stewardship. The Pastoral Council’s purpose is to bring the practical wisdom and experience of its members as a consultative body to the Pastor and Pastoral Administrators/Assistants. The purpose of the Assumption-Resurrection Clustered Pastoral Council should be focused on: The development of common vision and purpose for an integrated faith community, advocate for the poor and powerless, and to extend Christian commitment to the neighborhoods and communities around our faith locations. Orchestrating a statement of mission for the parish community and become the reference point for activity in the parish. Providing recommendations for parish priorities, directions and policies through pastoral planning for worship, evangelization, outreach, stewardship, etc. D. Promoting communication, understanding, and collaboration among parish organizations and between the parish, His Excellency the Bishop, the diocese, and the universal Church to further the development of our relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Parish Pastoral Council is the Primary leadership group of the parish. Its broad focus is our parish life and mission. More specifically, we are working together to find ways for our two parish communities, which share a pastor, to share more.
Our Joint Parish Council serves as an advisory board for our pastor and parish staffs. The group consists of parishioners from both the Church of the Assumption and our sister parish, the Church of the Resurrection. Members are selected rather than elected.
We welcome all parishioners to contact any member of the council or attend one of our monthly meetings if there is anything you'd like to discuss. You can contact the council at [email protected].
