Email Scam Alert

Watch out for email scams, folks.

The IT team at the diocese warns us that the rash of scam emails impersonating priests and other staff continues.

These SCAM emails ask for help and follow up by asking for gift cards to be purchased and the codes sent to the requester.

This sort of scam is going on across the country and targeting all sorts of institutions. The reason it is so prevalent is that it’s working.

Please always be aware of the sender email address.

Members of our parish staff use @dor.org email. If you get a message from an outside address (Gmail, yahoo, AOL, etc.), claiming to be from a member of the parish staff, it is most likely fake. If you are not sure, contact the staffer by phone or work email address (available here).
